Courses
Training Classes are mostly held indoors, in my training barn. In the warmer months we have options to be outside on the front lawn or in an enclosed grassy paddock.
Puppy Classes – £100
Weekdays from 6pm
A 6 week course, 40 minutes each class for puppies from 1st vaccination.
The first night is owners only, during this session I go through keys areas such as socialising, toilet training, essential equipment, diet and demonstrate all the exercises you will learn over the course.Teaching exercises such as:- Sit, down, stand
- Handling and grooming
- Walking to heel
- Come back when called
- Ignore distractions
- Control around people and dogs
Advanced Puppy Classes – £100
Weekdays from 6pm.
A 6 week course, 40 minutes each class for puppies from 1st vaccination.
Following on from the Puppy Class I have developed the "Advanced Puppy Class" for older puppies wishing to continue their training to higher, more advanced level but aren't quite old enough to take their Bronze Test. Exercises include:
- Lead walking with distractions
- Recall with distractions
- Walking to heel off lead
- Leave it
- Send to bed
- Temptation Alley
Kennel Club Good Citizen Classes Bronze, Silver & Gold – from £100
Weekdays from 6pm
6 week courses, 40 minutes per week, for dogs aged from 6 months.
Starting at Bronze you and your dog can work up to Gold. Exercises taught include:
- Recall
- Heelwork
- Control among other people and dogs
- Ignore distractions
- Food manners
- Road/street walking
- Send to bed
- Emergency Stop
- Stay in one place for up to 2 minutes
Private Training Lessons/ Behaviour Consultations
Sometimes a dog isn’t ready to go into a group class and would benefit from some 1:1 training first to put the foundations in place. Or maybe there’s a particular area you want to work on i.e. recall and we can focus the lesson purely on that area.
Dogs can suffer from a wide range of behavioural issues such a noise phobias, separation anxiety, fear of other dogs, nervousness around strangers to name a few. During a behaviour consultation, I would look at what the dog is doing and how we can change that behaviour into a more desirable behaviour. This involves taking a full background history, looking at day to day home life, when the problem presents itself, what has already been tried and then work through some methods and put plans in place to change the behaviour.
